Rules for Horticulture Exhibits !!!
1. Refer to the meeting schedule.
2. “Specimen” means one.
3. A “collection” means five.
4. Horticulture materials must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least three months.
5. Exhibits are limited to one entry per class; classes may be subdivided.
6. All exhibits must be properly labeled.
7. Condition of horticultural material should include:
a. straight stems
b. healthy foliage
c. proper hardening
d. grooming, i.e., removing marred foliage, debris, insects, etc.
8. Check the “Handbook for Flower Shows” for growing,
staging and exhibiting tips.
All members are encouraged to bring in any unusual horticulture exhibits, regardless of the schedule.
Members are encouraged to study the Design and Horticulture Exhibiting display boards on view at most meetings. Also, the library has many good books on Floral Design which can be most helpful.
