The Long Hill Garden Club of Trumbull, Connecticut

Awards 2006-2007

The Long Hill Garden Club of Trumbull took a first place award in Class V (70-99 members) for their yearbook for 2006-2007 ............Our own Nancy Lenoce won a Connecticut Tribute award ( a pin) for Landscape design at the Awards Luncheon.

Our own Terry Stoleson was one of the major designers at the Awards Luncheon in October. She created this design as she chatted and explained the secrets of creative floral designing.

Terry Stoleson has been an inspiration to many, many garden club members in Connecticut, and to designers in states beyond Connecticut. In addition, she has been a guiding hand for Creative Arrangers for most of their history. Floral design in this state has been influenced by her extraordinary talent. With a light hearted touch she has shared her love of design with all of us.

It is for these reasons that Creative Arrangers of Connecticut has created a new flower show award to honor her; the TERRY STOLESON DESIGN AWARD. The Board of The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut has approved this award that will be presented at the State Flower and Garden Show.

A purple and orange rosette will be presented to the design that best represents the creativity, imagination, and originality essential in Creative Design. It is possible that the winning design could receive multiple top awards. The judges will determine the recipient of this award. ....
